Black is where most people start. It is the most forgiving colour in luxury, and it asks less of you while you work out what you actually like.
But black is not one colour. A matte wool, a lacquered leather and a silk that catches the light behave in completely different ways, and they rarely sit well together. We put this edit together piece by piece, for how each one behaves rather than for the name on the label.
Each piece ships with its certificate of authenticity. If you are unsure about size, write to us before you order. We would rather get it right the first time than handle a return.
The Outer Layer
The piece everyone sees first, and the one that has to work over everything else. In black, the only thing left to judge is the shape.
Soft Black
Wool, cashmere, silk. Black that absorbs light instead of reflecting it. The quietest version, and the easiest to wear on an ordinary day.
The Hardware
Leather, lacquer, metal. Where black stops being neutral and starts being a decision. One piece here is usually enough.
